How buying here works.

Browse for free. Register to bid. When you win, a rep takes you through payment and pickup or shipping. Here is each step, and what it costs.

The five steps

  1. Register and verify your ID

It is free. You enter your details, upload a photo ID and accept the agreement. A person reviews it. See how registration works.

  2. Find a vehicle

Every listing shows photos, the title status, condition notes and where the vehicle is. Use the star to watch a vehicle and we remind you before it closes.

Browse vehicles or see the schedule.

  3. Bid, or set a top price

Place a bid at the next amount, or set the most you will pay and let us bid for you. Before a vehicle opens you can also send a price offer or use Buy Now, where the lot shows one.

  4. Win and pay

When the clock stops, the top bidder is recorded. A rep calls to confirm the sale and sends your invoice. How to pay.

  5. Pick up or ship

After payment clears, collect the vehicle from its location or have it shipped. Get a shipping quote before you bid if you want to know the cost up front.

Bidding in plain English

A bid is a binding offer to buy. Decide your limit before the clock starts, fees included.

Proxy bidding

Enter the most you are willing to pay. We bid for you, one step at a time, and only as far as needed to keep you in front. You never pay more than your maximum, and nobody sees it.

Example

  1. A vehicle is at $20,000 and bids go up by $250.
  2. You set a maximum of $22,000. You lead at $20,250.
  3. Someone bids $21,000. We answer for you at $21,250.
  4. Someone goes past $22,000. You are outbid, and you can raise your maximum.

If two people set the same maximum, whoever set it first leads.

The clock

Lots close at a set time (CT). To stop last-second sniping, bids near the end move the clock:

  • A bid with more than 30 seconds left adds 10 seconds.
  • A bid in the last 30 seconds resets the clock to 30 seconds.
  • The auction ends only when nobody answers in time.

The rule is shown next to the countdown on every vehicle page. The minimum bid is always shown too.

Common questions

What is a proxy bid?

It is your secret maximum. You set it once and we place bids for you, one step at a time, only as high as needed. If someone bids past your maximum, you are outbid and can raise it.

What happens if someone bids at the last second?

The clock moves. A bid with more than 30 seconds left adds 10 seconds, and a bid in the last 30 seconds resets the clock to 30 seconds. That gives everyone a fair chance to answer.

Which fees do I pay as a buyer?

The auction fee (0.5% of the winning bid on most lots) and the agent fee ($299 on most lots), plus State and local tax, title and registration charges that apply to you, plus shipping if you ask for it. Call the office for the exact figures on a vehicle.

How and when do I pay?

You get an invoice after the sale is confirmed. It lists the amount, the payment instructions and the deadline. Confirm the details by phone before you send any money. Read the payment guide.

Can I pick the vehicle up, or have it shipped?

Both. The vehicle is released after payment clears. You can collect it from its location, or we can arrange a carrier. Price a move with the shipping estimator.

What does "as-is" mean?

Vehicles are sold in the condition they are in. Read the condition notes, check every photo and ask a rep about anything that is unclear before you bid. Bids are binding. If you need to know how a condition problem is handled, confirm with the office first.

What does title status mean?

Each listing shows the title status, for example clean, salvage or rebuilt. They are different products at different prices, and a salvage or rebuilt title can affect insurance, financing and resale. What you need to register a vehicle in Alabama depends on the vehicle and on you, so confirm with the office and your county licensing office.

Do I need an account to look around?

No. Browsing is open to everyone. You need a verified account to bid, send an offer or use Buy Now.

Ready when you are.

Registration is free. You can browse every vehicle without an account.
