You won. Here is how paying works.
After a sale a rep calls you, then sends an invoice with the amount and the payment instructions. The vehicle is released once your payment has cleared.
From the final bid to the keys
The clock stops
The top bidder is recorded and emailed. A closing bid is not final until the office confirms the sale.
A rep calls you
They confirm the sale, how you want to pay and whether you want shipping arranged.
You get an invoice
It shows the amount, the fees and the payment instructions. Your invoice states the deadline. If you cannot meet it, call the office before it passes.
You pay, and we confirm
Send the payment as the invoice says. The office confirms when funds have arrived.
Pick up or ship
The vehicle is released for collection or a carrier. Title paperwork starts once payment has cleared in full.
What your invoice includes
The estimator on every vehicle page shows these before you bid.
State and local vehicle tax, title and registration charges are separate and depend on the vehicle and on you. Ask the office what applies and confirm the details with your county licensing office.
Ways to pay
Wire transfer
Usually the quickest. Instructions come with your invoice. Wires are normally visible to us within one business day.
ACH transfer
A bank-to-bank option for US accounts. It is slower, and the vehicle is released only once the transfer has cleared.
Anything else
Buy regularly, or want to pay another way? Ask the office. Please call before you send cash, a check, a card or a payment app. We confirm which methods are accepted for your purchase.
Common questions
How long do I have to pay?
Your invoice states the deadline. It is not the same for every sale, so read the invoice and confirm it with your rep when they call.
When can I collect the vehicle?
After your payment has cleared. Call before you drive over: a rep can tell you where the vehicle is and when it can be collected.
What if I cannot complete the purchase?
Tell the office as soon as you know. A bid is binding, so do not wait. Reps can explain what happens next for your sale.
When do I get the title?
Title work starts once payment has cleared. How long it takes depends on the vehicle and the state involved; your rep tells you what to expect for yours.
Is the winning bid the total price?
No. Add the auction fee, the agent fee, State and local tax, title and registration, and shipping if you use it. Use the estimator on the vehicle page to see the total before you bid.
